a little about Kurtachio

Photo

I am a professional Violinist trained at the Royal Northern College of Music, UK, and a professional photographer who specialises in portraiture related to musicians and beyond. Having played professionally with orchestras and ensembles around the globe, I have developed close relationship with musicians across genres. I strive to make artistic and modern imagery that represent the best of 21st century musicians, both on stage and off stage. My photos are bold, elegant, vibrant, and geometric.

I am discreet when working in live events. I aim to document the event without interrupting the flow and atmosphere of the happening. I also work mostly without a flash, as a result my photos are most natural to look at, most real to view as a memory.

I have worked on commissions in Hong Kong, Singapore, United Kingdom. I have collaborated with local and overseas ensembles/organisations for creative photography projects, including Raffles Music Festival (Singapore), Hong Kong New Music Ensembles, Romer String Quartet, Northern String Quartet (UK), Groove Wind Quintet, Viva Pipers Wind Quintet, Premiere Performance Hong Kong, World Harp Congress, TomLee Music Academy, etc.

In recent years, my work has extended to Engagement/Wedding photography, producing natural-looking Engagement/Pre-Wedding photos as well as Wedding day photos.

My photos have been featured in Financial Times, South China Morning Post, Art-News HongKong.

I have also won prizes in National Geographic Photo Contest 2014 and also Canon Photo Marathon 2015 Hong Kong.
